Easy Ways of Stopping Headaches Other Than Using Painkillers

Headaches, as the name suggests, are pains experienced in the head. The pain receptors in the brain are activated and this makes you feel pain in head. Headaches always mean a problem. They may be triggered by external factors like noise, very bright lights and strains. They can also be caused by food poisoning and stress. The pain may be slightly and goes off with time. With others, it's head-wrecking migraine. You can stop headaches by the following:

TAKE TIME OFF THE SCREEN.

Computer displays, phone and television screens cause eye strain. This is common when there's a prolonged eye contact. Light has energy in it. The colors on those screens have different wavelengths. This strains your eyes. Oscillatory nerves respond to these stimuli by activating the brain pain receptors. This in turn causes headache. A better treatment to this is to take a break. Take a walk and avoid those bright lights for a moment. If it recurs, consider using light filtering spectacles.

TAKE PLENTY OF WATER

Sometimes it's just because your body is dehydrated and that's why you are having headaches. Dehydration means that you are lacking enough fluids in the body system. The best approach to this is to take plenty of water or fluids. The dryness may be slowing down blood flow to the brain. Hence taking water hydrates the cells, makes them more active in assimilation of nutrients and oxygen in the body. That why if you lose much blood you are likely to experience headache due to dehydration.

EAT FOOD

You may experience headaches when you are staving or fasting. This means that your body lacks enough energy to run the system. There is no energy that can pump blood to the brain cells. Here is where migraine comes in. Food is energy source and once taken, the body will break it down to release the calories needed for metabolic processes. By saying food, don't take caffeine rich ones, they may accelerate it. In case you had eaten food and start to experience headaches, it may be allergy or food poisoning. Seek necessary medical attention.

SLEEP PLENTY

Your brain overworks during the day and needs enough sleep. Sleeping less than 8 hours a day may lead to headaches. This is due to not allowing your body have enough rest. To achieve maximum sleep, avoid caffeine prior to your bed time. Also avoid bright lights and phone display at least an hour before sleeping. This prepares your body psychologically for the sleep. While sleeping don't stain the neck. That might decrease blood flow to the brain and cause more headaches.
