Peptic and duodenal ulcer disorders are caused by a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori. This is a bacilli bacteria that attacks the wall of the stomach. By doing this, it makes the tunica mucosa layer of gastic susceptible to the acidic environment. The exposure allows the hydrochloric acid produced by gastic gland to corrode the walls of stomach. That's why people with ulcers experience some burns and abdominal discomforts. Here are things you have to watch out.
Reasons Why Dealing With Ulcers May Not Be Easy.
More than 80% of people who had previous cases of ulcers turn positive when tested again. To the people I have done H.pylori test to them, 90% of H.pylori ANTIBODY using blood sample turns out positive again after a previous positive result. So in such case, we look for a more sensitive and specificity test. So we use stool for h.pylor ANTIGEN.
1.Kind of medication you take
Some people mistake these symptoms. At times Hence it's not even ulcers. So you they buy ulcer drugs which further creates susceptibility. At times, these ulcer symptoms may be confused with abdominal pains. Cases of which patients prefer going to local chemists to buy flagen drugs. These kind of medication can't stop the bacteria from affecting you. Although metronidazole is antibiotic too, it's pharmacology is not right medication. Ulcer patient needs to consider these drugs that include but not limited to:
Omeprazole Capsules
Sometimes referred to as "omes" "omis" etc. This is a capsule that contains Omeprazole B.P 20mg. It's mainly takes twice in a dosage of 1*2. Unless otherwise directed by your doctor. This are mostly taken routinely by the ulcer patients.
Tinidazole
Although it's not commonly used but it also reactive to H.pylori. especially duodenal ulcers. It has broad spectrum on UTI, STI, repiratory disorders, amoebasis and anaerobical infections.
Each tinidazole tablet has 500mg. Taken as 4 tablets once a day for 3 days.
H pylori Kit
Depending on your severity, the doctor may advise you to buy H. pylori kit. Each kit contains:
- 2 Clarithromycin tablets BP 1000mg
- 2 Amoxicilin Tablets BP 500mg
- 2 Esomeprazole tablets BP 20mg
The synergism of these tablets is crucial in perfect eradication of Ulcers.
Foods you take:
Some people would still develop recurring ulcers because of what they eat. If you continue with diet you were warned about, expect the worse. Sukuma wiki and beans are very common foods consumed. They are acidic in nature and would affect you even when on ulcer medication. One needs to stay away from them for medical reasons
Psycological issues
Although stress doesn't cause ulcers, it contributes to it's severity. Stress reduces gut motility hence reduces your appetite. When this happens, you go on empty stomach allowing hydrochloric acid to damage your walls. They say stress causes ulcers, however, it only contributes to it's severity. If have the condition, try to relax your mind and ensure you eat well. This will make you better and prevent the bacteria from recurring.
Staying hungry or fasting may be another reason why ulcers won't leave your stomach the wounds need to heal by regularly involving your stomach in digestion.
